Our location
Oregon Health and Science University is located in Portland, Oregon. OHSU features state-of-the-art research facilities with a beautiful Pacific Northwest view. At OHSU research, teaching, and learning intersect to improve patient care, treat, and prevent disease.
Our Research
The Andres Lab studies how cells within the intestine and colon communicate with the body during health and disease states. We are especially interested in how extracellular vesicles, tiny cellular packages of information, are produced, the messages they carry, and the effects of their delivery throughout the body. We are examining roles for these vesicles in intestinal development, necrotizing enterocolitis and colon cancer.
